“We all want to help one another. Human beings are like that. We want to live by each others’ happiness, not by each other’s misery. We don’t want to hate and despise one another. In this world there is room for everyone. And the good earth is rich and can provide for everyone.”

I wanna leave my footprints on the sands of time
Know there was something that, and something that I left behind
When I leave this world, I’ll leave no regrets
Leave something to remember, so they won’t forget
I was here…
I lived, I loved
I was here…
I did, I’ve done, everything that I wanted
And it was more than I thought it would be
I will leave my mark so everyone will know
I was here…
I want to say I lived each day, until I died
I know that I had something in, somebody’s life
The hearts I have touched, will be the proof that I leave
That I made a difference, and this world will see
I was here…
I lived, I loved
I was here…
I did, I’ve done, everything that I wanted
And it was more than I thought it would be
I will leave my mark so everyone will know
I was here…
I was here…
I lived, I loved
I was here…
I did, I’ve done, everything that I wanted
And it was more than I thought it would be
I will leave my mark so everyone will know
I was here…
I just want them to know
That I gave my all, did my best
Brought someone to happiness
Left this world a little better just because…
I was here…
This is the only melody and lyrics that can describe what the soul of a little church in Brooklyn pled today. Rest in peace Uncle Sundai -
Father can you hear me
We need your love today
I know that you are listening
you hear men everyday
Father please hear us
and we will be ok
father we need you to heal families todayFather you know we need it
I’ve never seen so much pain
We have the faith for now
Your victory we will gain
father you know we mean it
there’s no more heart of stone
were ready for your power
now the sin is gone
Father, can you here us now?
I love TOMS shoes but this rings so true. Products like TOMS perpetuate a vicious cycle of poverty in developing countries because the ‘aid tools’ are not placed in the hands of the people we try to help. ——-“Schimmelpfennig writes: ‘TOMS Shoes is a good marketing tool, but it’s not good aid.” She has a long list of reasons, including: “It’s quintessential Whites in Shining Armor. It’s doing things ‘for’ people, not ‘with’ people.’ This argument echoes the larger-scale critique by Dambisa Moyo, author of the 2010 book Dead Aid, in which she takes on big-aid advocates like development economist Jeffery Sachs and singer Bono for perpetuating the idea that what poor countries need is charity, when what they really need are long-term economic-development solutions that they, themselves, control.”

“The arts are so embedded in our protest movements – in caricatures of dictators, politically charged paintings and poetic slogans – that we barely even notice their power. This is not a new phenomenon; as far back as the French Revolution, artists like Jacques-Louis David were creating the banners and paintings of the opposition. The Egyptian revolution has been no different. Artist Zak Khelfa told NewsGram: ‘We accomplished the biggest uprising in the world in 18 days. And how did it happen? With art and blood.’ “
